Time tracking for Teams

Earlier this year Timewatch announced the exciting arrival of our new Autofill Timesheet feature – a service that pulls data from other systems that can be used to simplify time tracking. We started with Outlook, then added Teams meetings, then Google calendars. Now, Teams Calls can now be turned into timesheets. With a click of a button users can add appointments, meetings or calls to their timesheet, making timesheet entry easier, faster and more accurate.

Time tracking in Microsoft Teams

People forget about a lot of the calls they make during a work day, and forget even more when they fill in their timesheets a few days later. Those calls ALL add up to time you should be in your timesheet. Now – with our Autofill working with Teams calls – you will never miss a minute that can be added to your timesheet.

How does Microsoft Teams times tracking work?

  • Timewatch timesheets seamlessly connect to Microsoft Teams and automatically adds Teams meetings and calls to your timesheet as draft entries
  • Full details of the call or meeting are show, so you easily see who it was with, when and for how long
  • You can specify a project / customer (for reporting or billing)
  • You can alter the actual duration of a meeting or call if needed
  • If you don’t want certain Teams calls or meetings to be added to a timesheet? No problem, simply exclude it
  • With all the data in front of you, you can more easily decide which calls to add to your timesheet

This quick demo shows how autofill automatically adds teams meetings to the timesheet – users can then edit, add or hide the item. Calls works is the same way.

Time tracking just got a whole lot easier for Microsoft Teams users

If your company uses Microsoft Teams, Timewatch can make your timesheets easier, faster and more accurate by helping your users use the wealth of data in Teams. For example, imagine a user made a call to a team member, customer or vendor using Teams between 10:00am and 10:23am. With Timewatch’s autofill timesheet, that call will be displayed in the user’s timesheet as a draft 23 minute entry detailing who they called. Just click, edit the time and any notes, and it is officially added to the timesheet. Simple. Easy. Fast. Accurate.

“Organizations that need to track time and use Teams can now save their employees valuable time each week,” says Anthony Vaccaro, senior product specialist at Timewatch. “Traditional timesheets are laborious, with users having to manually enter time, but our system can automate much of this. Now calls and meetings via Teams can be turned into timesheets. It’s amazing how much time this saves employees, and how many calls or meetings people forget about, all of which would otherwise be missed.”

Never forget a work meeting with Autofill Timesheet

Everyone knows that, as much as we would like them to do so, no one completes their timesheet as they go. Human nature means that they just don’t. Some people wait until the end of the day to complete a timesheet. Most wait until the end of the week, or the day their timesheet is due. It’s not surprising people forget some calls or meetings.

Autofill Timesheet solves this as it ensures every Teams call or meeting is made available to add to a timesheet, but it isn’t just for Outlook or Teams.

Autofill can work with other products as well!

Autofill timesheet isn’t limited to just Outlook, Teams or Google. Autofill Timesheet has been designed to allow customers to integrate it with any system they use that holds data that could be used in timesheets. Examples include: help desk and ticketing systems, project management systems, video conference systems, CRM systems, email, document management systems and anything that holds potential timesheet information.

Autofill and time tracking for Teams is a simple, fast and accurate timesheet solution

Using Autofill Timesheet is super easy. Employers specify which systems they want users to be able to pull timesheet data from and users then chose which ones they specifically want to use. Once setup, users timesheets autofill with transactions from these systems ready for them to add to their timesheet. Each event shows in our timesheet at the date and time it occurred, its duration, and with an icon to show where the transaction came from (Outlook, Google, Teams, or elsewhere). Events also show details such as the subject or who the call or meeting was with to help the user decide whether to add the event to their timesheet or not.

“People were amazed during our testing phase for Autofill Timesheet. There were calls that they had made that had been completely forgotten about. Autofill Timesheet solves that problem and fits one of our missions at Timewatch, to make mundane tasks easier and faster to complete,” says Vaccaro.
