Time tracking for Teams
Earlier this year Timewatch announced the exciting arrival of our new Autofill Timesheet feature – a feature that pulls data from other systems that can be used to simplify time tracking. We started with Outlook, then added Teams meetings, then Google calendars. Now, Teams Calls can now be turned into timesheets. With a click of a button users can add appointments, meetings or calls to their timesheet, making it easier and faster to track time, as well as making it more accurate.

People forget about a lot of the calls they make during a work day, and forget even more when they fill in their timesheets a few days later. These calls ALL add up, and without reminding employees where time was spent, it is time easily lost. Now – with Autofill – employees will never miss a minute that could be used in time tracking and save hours each week.

How does Time Tracking for Teams work?
- Microsoft Teams integration automatically adds meetings and calls to employee timesheets
- Full details of the call or meeting are show, so you easily see who it was with, when and for how long
- You can specify projects / clients / customers (for working hours, project hours and client hours analytics and/or billing)
- You can alter the actual duration of a meeting or call if needed
- If you don’t want certain calls or meetings to be added, no problem, simply exclude them
- With all the data in front of you, you can more easily decide which calls should be used to track time
Time tracking just got a whole lot easier for Microsoft Teams users
If your company uses Microsoft Teams, Timewatch can make time tracking easier, faster and more accurate by users use the data in Teams. For example, imagine a user made a call to a co-worker, customer or vendor using Teams between 10:00 am and 10:23 am. With Timewatch’s Microsoft Teams integration, that call will be displayed in the user’s timesheet as a draft 23 minute entry detailing who they called. Employees can edit the time, add notes, clients, projects, and that’s it! It’s simpler, easier, faster and more accurate than manual time tracking and any other software system.

Organizations that need to track time and use Teams can now save their employees valuable time each week. Traditional timesheets are laborious, with users having to manually enter time, but our system can automate much of this. Now Teams calls and meetings can be used in time tracking. It’s just amazing how much time this saves employees, and how many calls or meetings employees forget about – all of which would be missed otherwise.

Never forget a work meeting with Autofill Timesheet
Everyone knows that, as much as we would like them to do so, few employees do their time tracking as they go. Human nature means that they just don’t. Some employees wait until the end of the day to login to their time tracking software, most wait until the end of the week, month, or the day their time is due. It’s not surprising people forget some calls or meetings.
Timewatch’s Teams time tracking software solves this as it tracks time as employees spend time in meetings and calls. It ensures every Teams call or meeting made are automatically added as a timeline, but it isn’t just for Outlook or Teams.
Autofill can work with other products as well!
Time tracking autofill isn’t limited to just Outlook, Teams or Google. Autofill has been designed to allow clients to integrate it with any system that hold employee time tracker data. Examples include: help desk and ticketing systems, project management systems, video conference systems, CRM systems, email, document management systems and anything that holds potential time data.
Autofill and time tracking for Teams is a simple, fast and accurate timesheet solution
Using Autofill Timesheet is super easy. Employers specify which systems they want users to be able to pull timesheet data from and users then chose which ones they specifically want to use. Once setup, users timesheets autofill with transactions from these systems ready for them to add to their timesheet. Each event shows in our timesheet at the date and time it occurred, its duration, and with an icon to show where the transaction came from (Outlook, Google, Teams, or elsewhere). Events also show details such as the subject or who the call or meeting was with to help the user decide whether to add the event to their timesheet or not.
❝
People were amazed during our testing phase for our Teams time tracking as there were calls that they had completely forgotten about – time that would have been lost otherwise. Autofill solves that problem and fits one of our missions at Timewatch, to make time tracking easier and faster to complete.

How is it installed?
Timewatch’s Teams time tracking software is company level plugin that works with our OutlookTime®, Time®, Time&Money® and Time&Space® professional services software. Once the plugin is installed and activated, each user can enable Teams time tracking features through their time management console. Then, as users make calls or schedule meetings, they are automatically tracked and are visible in their timesheet where they can add client / customer / project information. As it saves duplicate entry, the system saves employees time, and as no meeting or call is missed, it improves time tracking accuracy and billing.
